From Sofa to 5K: Start Your Running Journey This New Year

Do you plan to set a New Year’s resolution to get fit? Have you thought about running and not know where to start? Then dust off your running shoes and set yourself an exciting new challenge!

Going from the sofa to running can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. The NHS Couch to 5K guides you from being an absolute beginner to being ready to run 5km in just nine weeks, and it’s simple to follow, designed for absolute beginners, and a healthy way to kick-start the year.

And it doesn’t have to end there! We’re organising a challenge here at the Caldecott Foundation that would let you put your new-found running skills to good use – by running in aid of us!

We are hosting our inaugural Caldecott to 5K Challenge at the Caldecott Foundation on Saturday 29th March 2025, and we would love to see you there!

You’ll be raising money for a charity dedicated to therapeutic care and education. We provide children and young people with nurturing residential and foster care, and education. We are committed to providing every child a positive future.

Whether you’re a new runner who has been following the NHS Couch to 5K, or an experienced runner who’d like to join in, then sign up for our challenge and get ready to help us raise money for a positive future for children and young people in Caldecott.
