Celebrating Excellence at the Caldecott Awards
In the first event of its kind, the Caldecott Awards has celebrated the dedication and commitment of Caldecott Foundation staff in helping traumatised children to rebuild their lives.
“Our staff teams work tirelessly to ensure our young people receive the best care”, said Karen Rainer, Service Development Manager, “and we wanted to acknowledge and thank them for their continued service.”
The award categories included Long Service; Outstanding Contribution; Registered Managers’ Choice and Managing Director’s Choice.
Children from the Caldecott Foundation had also given their input to the Awards, with a Young Person’s Choice category. During the evening, heartfelt video messages recorded by the young people were played, in which they shared stories about the adults whom they had nominated and explained the reasons for their choices.
The recipients were presented with their awards in front of colleagues at the Caldecott Foundation’s main headquarters. Teams from the Foundation’s services in the East Midlands and Kent were in attendance, together with the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Mike Lauerman, Chair of the Trustees said “Whenever I visit the Caldecott Foundation, I leave feeling energised and more positive about life. For me, the Caldecott Foundation is like a bottomless well that keeps on giving, and that is what we are celebrating.”
A buffet reception took place after the ceremony, allowing staff members from across different departments to come together.
Damion Napier, Master of Ceremonies for the event, said “This has offered us an opportunity to pay tribute to the invaluable contribution of our staff at the Caldecott Foundation. We hope the ceremony continues to inspire and motivate everyone to providing the exceptional care our children and young people deserve.”
